Start With the Symptom

Why am I always looking for a bathroom?

Frequent urination can come from the prostate, bladder, medications, diabetes, sleep problems, infection, or other causes. The first step is understanding the pattern before choosing a procedure.

Frequency does not automatically mean BPH.

Storage symptoms

Urgency, frequency and waking at night can reflect bladder function as much as prostate obstruction.

Voiding symptoms

Weak stream, hesitancy, straining and incomplete emptying are more suggestive of outlet obstruction.

Useful next step: urology can help determine whether the prostate is actually driving the symptoms before you compare PAE with other BPH treatments.
